Keynote Speaker Highlights:

Michio Kaku

Dr. Michio Kaku is an internationally recognized authority in two areas. The first is Einstein’s unified field theory, which Dr. Kaku is attempting to complete. The other is to predict trends affecting business, commerce, and finance based on the latest research in science.

He is the author of two international best-sellers, Hyperspace and Visions: How Science Will Revolutionize the 21st Century. For Visions, he interviewed 150 of the world’s top scientists, many of them Nobel Laureates and directors of the largest scientific laboratories, about their vision for the next 20 years in computers, robotics, biotechnology, space travel, etc. These are the scientists who are inventing the future in their laboratories. Visions is the most authoritative and most authentic understanding of the world of the future.

Dr. Kaku holds the Henry Semat Chair in Theoretical Physics at the City Univ. of New York. He graduated from Harvard University in 1968 (summa cum laude and 1st in his physics class). He received his Ph.D. in physics from the Univ. of Calif. at Berkeley in 1972, and been a professor at CUNY for almost 30 years. He has taught at Harvard and Princeton as well. His goal is the complete Einstein’s dream of a “theory of everything,” to derive an equation, perhaps no more than one inch long, which will summarize all the physical laws of the universe.

Charles F. Zukoski

Dr. Charles F. Zukoski is a chemical and biomolecular engineer, whose professional work now focuses on leading, enabling and supporting research initiatives, technology transfer and the economic development. He was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Melbourne in 1992. As Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2002-2008, Dr. Zukoski oversaw an annual research portfolio of over $500 million in research each year through more than 3,000 sponsored research awards from the federal and state governments and private organizations. Dr. Zukoski also serves as the Chairman of the Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC). He leads the council and the seven A*STAR research institutes in charting new directions and strategies that will sustain economic growth in Singapore, a city-state with 4.5 million inhabitants.

Gordon Bell

Gordon Bell has been a principal researcher at Microsoft Research, since 1995, researching the lifetime capture and storage of everything for an individual. Previous roles include a Fulbright scholarship to the University of New South Wales (1957-58), VP of R&D, Digital Equipment Corp. (1960-1983); professor, Carnegie-Mellon University (1966-72); founding assistant director of NSF’s Computing and Information Sciences and Engineering (CISE) Directorate (1986-1988); chairman, cross agency committee (FCCSET) for creating the Internet(1987-1988); advisor /investor in 100+ start-up companies; and a founding trustee of the Computer History Museum, Mountain View, CA. He is a member of the ACM, Am. Acad. Arts & Sciences, IEEE, NAE, and NAS, and was awarded the 1991 National of Medal of Technology.
